South Dakota Governor’s Giant Vision

Hydrolyst received 1st place in the 2020 Governor’s Giant Vision Competition.

The South Dakota Governor’s Giant Vision Award presents an opportunity for students and small businesses to compete for funding for their South Dakota based businesses. Entrants will develop a business plan and present their ideas to a judging panel comprised of business experts. Selection of winners will be based on a combination of the viability of the business proposal, including considerations of potential competition, likelihood of success, market size and profitability. The judges will give heavier weighting to business proposals that have the potential to advance employment or the economic base in South Dakota. Those entering the Governor's Giant Vision Business Competition will submit a written business plan that outlines the business idea, potential markets, production requirements (if any) and other standard items. All South Dakotans, including innovative individuals in the workplace with ideas for their own business are encouraged to apply. The competition is open to entrepreneurs with new ideas that they believe would benefit from the review and analysis process of the competition.

National Security and Innovation Network (NSIN)

Hydrolyst has received NSIN’s Common Mission Project Award. The Common Mission Project Award is given to entrepreneurs focused on rapidly developing a technology that solves critical challenges of our time.

Hydrolyst has also partnered with NSIN to participate in the Emerge Accelerator. The Emerge Accelerator seeks to fund technology that solves critical DoD technology needs and also provides a dual use commercial solution. The program seeks to educate participating companies, spun out of university research, in the nuances of working with governmental agencies and developing relevant dual use opportunities. The program culminates with a “pitch day” where government representatives are invited to a virtual conference where they can hear pitches from Emerge participants and make meaningful business connections.
